Why is a letter to a judge in a civil case suitable material to post on a blog? Because every citizen is entitled to a ruling on matters properly presented to a court for a decision. The fundamental essence of due process is the right to be heard in a reasonable time and a reasonable manner.

This blog post consists of a letter to Carlos Chappelle, a judge of the Tulsa District Court, demanding a prompt ruling on a motion for default judgment in a civil case. I am a lawyer by training, yet my best efforts to get a ruling, over a period of more than a year, on what should be a routine matter, have been fruitless. That’s morally and legally wrong, and the public is entitled to know what’s going on.
